It was yet another dreary day. but I took some pictures that cheered me up. And then went to the Relief Society Anniversary Dinner at the church.
And Laurel cheered herself up by going to an in-home concert by Mindy Gledhill. Some people are lucky like that.
Also, I had such an empty space in my heart today. I didn't realize how much I would miss my Bubba-man...

Leaving for Camp Casey
Malcolm left for Camp Casey today. Sure hope he has fun. He didn't want me to take his picture. Can you tell??
Be good, Bubba...can't wait to hear how much fun you have!

Twenty years ago today...
...Doug and I were married for time and all eternity. Some days twenty years feels like so much longer. But today isn't one of them. :)
We were married in the Oakland Temple (of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) on Saturday, March 30, 1991. We had started dating the week before Labor Day weekend, 1990, and we knew from the very beginning that this was "it" for us. And our six month courtship seemed to go alternately fast and slow.
If I'd been blogging twenty years ago, my post that night would have gone something like this...
Doug and I were sealed this morning in the Oakland Temple. It was the first really warm, beautiful day of the spring. All of our siblings were there. Aunt Myrna came. And so did Uncle Doug and Aunt Gaye. Grandma May came down, and so did Grandma and Grandpa Sackett. Two of Doug's mission companions came from out of state (Joe and Kathleen drove from Utah through the night, stayed for the sealing and reception, and then drove back home).
Doug gave me my favorite perfume as a wedding gift: Jessica McClintock. It smells so pretty!
I guess we were supposed to call to wake up Granda and Grandpa Sackett, but we didn't know that, so they were late to the temple. Really late. But we all sat and waited for them in the sealing room, and I'm glad that they were there.
Here are some pictures from our awesome day!

| I'd say, that judging from their faces, none of the bachelorettes in the group there wanted anything to do with catching the bouquet... |

| the Jetta wasn't too bad! |
From the reception we went back to the Dillon's with our families and opened our gifts. Actually, mostly Doug opened the gifts because I spent the next three hours sick to my stomach ~ losing what little I'd had to eat during the day. I was relieved when I finally felt like I could get into the car and make the ten minute drive to our apartment...where I promptly crawled into bed and fell asleep. A rather unfortunate end to a pretty amazing day.
