Halloween (at last!)

It feels like we've been celebrating for weeks!  But Halloween finally arrived today.  I worked from home and took Henry to the vet.  He's been having some issues with one of his paws, and it's bleeding and seems very irritated.  He was a good boy ~ and doesn't even look too upset about wearing the cone of shame.

Laurel and Malcolm both went trick-or-treating with friends.  Baub took off by herself around our street, and then went again when Dana and I caught up to her.  Later, Doug took Aubrey and Malcolm out.  It ended up being quite chilly, but it didn't really rain on us much.
The kids couldn't wait to dump out their pile and try to guess how much they'd be selling to the dentist tomorrow.  All the kids except Baub kept at least some of their candy...she sorted it all out and then shoved it back in the bag and said she was selling it all.  She wanted money for our Disney World Vacation coming up in January!

crashed the party and visited the house

We crashed the Rock Creek Ward Trunk-or-Treat.  It's always fun to see how someone else does that night.  The kids had fun and we went back to the Halloween House afterward.  Aubrey was super excited to invite her friend Amanda to join us for the evening.

great season, Blue Ninjas!

Dana played soccer this season, and had a great time!  Regardless of what weird weather we were experiencing on any given Saturday, Dana never complained about being too wet, too cold, too muddy, or too hot.  I'm glad that we had Chase and Andrew on our team, because with all three girls playing soccer, I really needed friends to help get Dana to and from games and practices.

Here are some of my favorite shots of my favorite Blue Ninja!

Meet Miss Sophia and attend a party

The kids were so excited to meet Sophia today!  Kayla was very nice and let each of the kids hold her and give her kisses.  Chris and Kayla both looked like proud parents ~ very content and happy!  And Miss Sophie is a sweet girl.

Later, we went to a Halloween Costume Party at the Baker's home.  The kids played games, decorated cupcakes, ate some dinner, and got jacked up on sugar.  It was awesome.

Sheila and I both dressed as witches.  I guess Mom was right after all.

And on the way home we stopped to visit the Halloween House in Maple Woods ~ they are an amazing family and I love that they do this (though differently) every year!

Fox Hollow Farm

I bought a GroupOn to visit Fox Hollow Farm during the month of October.  I'd had grand plans to attend early in the month, pick our pumpkins, visit some animals, and be all happy that it is fall.  But soccer has been pretty much dominating our lives (which is great!), and we didn't make it to the farm until today.  And I was kind of in a bad mood.  And they weren't selling pumpkins.  And as it turns out, Dana is probably the farm's prime audience, and I think the other kids were a little bored.  That said, I think it's a beautiful place and I hope I get to go back again. And I was very grateful for a blue sky in October kind of day.
